India vs Afghanistan 2nd T20I: Virat Kohli is on his way to Indore to join the Indian squad ahead of the second T20I match against Afghanistan as the star batter was spotted at the Mumbai Airport on Saturday morning.
India and Afghanistan will face off in the second T20I match of the three-match series at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore on Sunday, January 14.
Kohli wasn't available for the first match, which would have been his comeback match in the T20I format after more than a year, but he opted out due to personal reasons.
Both Virat and skipper Rohit Sharma were named in the squad for the T20I series, which is India's final bilateral assignment in the shortest format ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024, with the duo being out of the team since T20 WC 2022.
Rohit went on to lead the side in Mohali T20I which India won by six wickets to go 1-0 up in the three-match series.
With Virat returning to the side, there are several speculations over the possible player who will be sitting out to make way for the former Indian captain.

There also have been talks about the possible option for the team to go with Virat and Rohit as openers in the shortest format.
Notably, Rohit opened with young batter Shubman Gill in the first match and registered a failure in his comeback match as he was run out early in the innings.
Kohli was last seen in action in the Test format in South Africa as the two-match series was his first assignment after the ODI World Cup 2023 at home.
The two-match Test series ended in a 1-1 draw with Virat being the top run-getter for the visitors.
He also had a remarkable World Cup campaign and ended up being the highest run-getter in the tournament with 765 runs before India lost in the final.
Meanwhile, Kohli has played only three T20Is against Afghanistan, scoring 172 runs. On the other hand, it is highly likely that Tilak Varma would make way for Kohli in the playing XI.
