 India show fight, show courage, but in the end their own mistakes cost them and allow a composed Connolly to score an excellent 61* and take his team home! India drop the series, almost literally, and Australia can breathe easy after it looked nervy at the end.

A small phase of play after Short's wicket seals it for the Aussies, when Connolly and Owen began to unleash. India never had that sort of explosion, and in a tight chase, poor catching might have made a difference. Ifs and what-abouts all India can think about as they travel over to Sydney.

Only a handful of boundaries away from sealing the win. Australia will want to make quick work of it.

India need something Bumrah-esque to rescue this situation. Mostly entering bowlers who can bat territory if they spark another wicket, but likely a couple of scalps needed to fight back into this – and quickly.

Third time's the charm as Mohammed Siraj hangs on at square leg to send Short packing! The Aussies were in control with a 12 run over, but the last ball is a quick and sharp bouncer from Harshit Rana. Short can only fend it off, and caught at square leg.

78 needed off 84, but it is 5 wickets down. Getting tight!

Connolly smashed two boundaries as 10 crucial runs came off that over from Axar.

After taking the wicket of Shreyas Iyer, Adam Zampa puts KL Rahul in an awkward position and sends the batter packing. IND 174/5 in 36.2 ov.

Mitchell Starc returns to the attack, doing what he does best - taking crucial wickets. The star pacer removes Rohit for 73. Rohit tries to play his traditional pull shot; however, the luck was not in his favour as the ball was handed in the hands of Josh Hazlewood at fine leg. IND 135/3 in 29.3 ov.
