India vs Australia Final, World Cup 2023: Former India batter and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar was seen consoling the Indian players after the team's defeat against Australia in the final of the ODI World Cup 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, November 19.
Australia clinched their record-sixth World Cup title after beating the hosts India by six wickets in the summit clash.
Apart from the crowd present in the iconic stadium and fans across the nation, the Indian players also were seen getting emotional as they missed out on their third World Cup title.
After the defeat, Tendulkar was seen walking up to the Indian players who were ready to get lined up to receive their runners-up medals consoling them, and also having a word with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
Tendulkar also had attended India's semi-final match against New Zealand in Mumbai as he stood with the team through thick and thin throughout the tournament.
He lauded Virat Kohli with immense pleasure when the star batter broke his record of most ODI centuries by scoring his 50th ODI century in front of his home crowd at Wankhede Stadium.
Indian players couldn't hold on to their emotions after the heart-breaking loss in the final as Mohammed Siraj was the first to break down as he was seen in tears.
KL Rahul was seen sitting on the ground in disappointment while Bumrah was seen hugging and consoling the emotional Siraj.
While skipper Rohit Sharma had a heart-breaking look on his face, Virat Kohli was trying to hide his emotions by covering his face with his cap.
He was hugged and consoled by his wife Anushka Sharma after the defeat.

Notably, Virat Kohli finished the tournament as the leading run-scorer and was adjudged as the Player of the Tournament as his upsetting face while receiving the trophy left fans in heartbreak.
Virat's consistency with the bat was a treat to watch throughout the tournament as he ended up scoring 765 runs in 11 matches at an average of 95.62 with the help of centuries and six fifties.
Talking about the match, India were not clinical with the bat and only managed to score 241 runs in their 50 overs.
Chasing the target, Australia lost three early wickets before Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne took them to a convincing six-wicket win in just 43 overs.
While Travis Head smashed a magnificent century, Labuschagne supported him brilliantly and scored a crucial half-century with Australia putting up yet another dominant performance in a World Cup final.
India were the most consistent and dominant team in the tournament until the final as they won 10 out of their 10 matches including the semi-final win against New Zealand.
While Virat scored the most runs, Mohammed Shami finished the tournament as the highest wicket-taker with 24 wickets to his name in just seven matches.
