India vs Bangladesh Kanpur Test: India batter KL Rahul revealed that captain Rohit Sharma's aggressive strategy and clear instructions to attack restored the hosts' hopes for triumph in the rain-marred 2nd Test against Bangladesh at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur.

After Days 2 and 3 were abandoned due to rain and a wet outfield the play on Day 4 was finally possible and India made the most out of sunny conditions in Kanpur as the hosts released a spectacular batting performance, registering the fastest team 50 (18 balls), 100 (74 balls), and 200 runs (24.2 overs) in Tests.

Speaking before Day 5's play Rahul described how Rohit's message inspired the squad to embrace an optimistic approach despite the little time remaining.

"The message was very clear from the start. We lost a couple of days due to rain. Most of the game was lost to weather, but we wanted to see what we could do in the time that was left. The plan was simple: find a way to play for the win," Rahul told Sports18.

"We lost a couple of wickets, but since Rohit's message was so clear that it didn't matter if we got out, we tried to do that," he added.

India launched an attack on Bangladesh bowlers from the beginning with opener Yashasvi Jaiswal smashing 30 off the first 13 balls and Rohit striking 19 from first six balls.

The hosts declared their innings at 285/9 before Ravichandran Ashwin spun the web of his crafty spin to take two wickets as Bangladesh ended Day 4 with a score of 26/2 in 11 overs, trailing by 26 runs.
