Women's T20 World Cup: As the marquee ICC Women's T20 World Cup approaches, India batter Jemimah Rodrigues said that the Indian women's team has taken inspiration from the men's triumph and will be looking to achieve well in the ICC tournament.

After a heartbreak in 2023, the Indian men’s team had a fairytale success in June this year. Men in Blue lifted the T20 World Cup title after a long gap of 17 years and the veteran players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma could not have wished for a more fitting farewell in T20I format.

The stage is set again, this time for the Indian women's team as they manifest similar success in the T20 World Cup.

The 24-year-old Jemimah draws inspiration from the men's team and fosters a blazing dream - to guide India to victory at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Having witnessed the highs and lows of Indian women's cricket since her teenage years, Jemimah believes claiming the trophy would be a monumental achievement for India women, etching an unforgettable chapter in the team's history.

“100 percent. It’s nice to keep dreaming about that, and we do dream about sitting on that bus at Marine Lines. I have played a lot of cricket there and got crowds there. But more than anything, we want to lift the World Cup for India,” Jemimah told India Today.

“The U19 girls have done it, but it will be the first one for the women’s team. I think it would be a crazy feeling just to do that. Yes, we have taken a lot of inspiration from the men’s team and it was special watching them do what they did, and hopefully we can do that too,” she said.
