India vs Bangladesh Kanpur Test: After Days 2 and 3 were marred by wet outfield and rain, a full day's play was finally possible on Day 4 on Monday in Kanpur's Green Park Stadium in the ongoing second Test match between India and Bangladesh.
Bangladesh resumed their first innings on 107/3 in 35 overs and were bundled out for 233 in 74.2 overs despite Mominul Haque's stunning inning of 107 off 194 deliveries.
The Rohit Sharma-led Indian team is poised to secure a historic victory on Day 5 of the second Test against Bangladesh on Tuesday, following a thrilling batting display on Monday.
In a remarkable turnaround, India shifted gears to T20 mode in their first innings, compiling an impressive 285 runs in just 34.4 overs. This aggressive batting effort resulted in a substantial 52-run lead in the rain-affected Test match.
What followed was absolute carnage. India unleashed a batting onslaught, accelerating to 285-9 in just 34.4 overs before declaring. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal (72 off 51) and KL Rahul (68 off 43) set the tone, while Virat Kohli's 47 off 35 balls further propelled the scoring.
By stumps on Day 4, Bangladesh found themselves in a precarious position, struggling at 26/2 in 11 overs in their second innings. The visitors still trail India by 26 runs.
Although a draw appears likely, India retains a slender hope of securing victory on Day 5. However, this ambition hinges crucially on favourable weather conditions in Kanpur.
