IND vs BAN: The Men in Blue are currently preparing for the two-match Test series against Bangladesh by holding a four-day training camp in Chennai, which is also the venue for the series opener. Head coach Gautam Gambhir and the team management had roped in net bowlers, who have specific skills to help the batters prepare.
Punjab's 6 feet 4.5 inches tall Gurnoor Brar is one of the main net bowlers.
He does have a decent first-class record but it's his height and his skills to produce bounce that helped him get selected as the net bowler. He would be simulating the high-arm action of Bangladesh fast bowler Nashid Rana, who is known for his bounce, especially in the recently concluded Test series against Pakistan.

Choosing the right net bowlers and tactical simulations will help the Rohit Sharma-led side decide their game plan. Morne Morkel, who was recently appointed as India's new bowling coach was seen advising about bowling techniques in the training session.
Bowlers Akash Deep and Yash Dayal, who are most likely going to warm the bench in the series opener if three specialist spinners are included in the playing XI, bowled for longer duration than fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj in these training sessions.
Off-spinner Himanshu Singh and slow left-arm bowler S Ajit Ram also took part in these sessions.
Star batters tried to come back to form after the one-month break.
The Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side would be landing in Chennai on Sunday amidst tight security due to the political unrest in the country and the sacking of their ex-PM Sheikh Hasina.
Farukh Ahmed, who is the chief of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) admitted that he had a word with BCCI secretary Jay Shah on being provided with tight security measures. "I have talked to Jay Shah and he has given us assurance regarding security", he said.
