India vs Bangladesh T20I Series: Former Indian cricketer Parthiv Patel lavished praise on young pace sensation Mayank Yadav for his impressive international debut against Bangladesh in the first T20I at Gwalior's New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium on October 6.

Mayank Yadav made a seamless transition to the international stage, displaying his courage and skill after his explosive debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

Mayank's IPL 2024 stint with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) gained him the spotlight for his searing pace, picking 7 wickets.

On the back of his IPL performance, he was picked in India's T20I squad followed by a lengthy injury-induced absence. His international debut was a triumphant return, producing 1/21 in four overs and underscoring his skills.

Following his impressive debut, Parthiv hailed the youngster for being able to perform for the first time despite having huge expectations from fans and experts.

“The highlight for me is Mayank Yadav. I think the way he made his debut, to play with lot of expectations and reputation is not easy. When you’re expecting 150-plus, if you want to bowl at 150 kmph that is a hard task, just to show no nerves, I think Mayank Yadav has been the highlight for me today,” said Parthiv on Sports18.

Mayank celebrated his maiden international wicket in style, dismissing experienced Bangladesh batter Mahmudullah in his second over. Mahmudullah's brief stay at the crease ended with a catch at deep point, with the veteran managing just a single run off two deliveries.

Yadav's debut outing was not without its challenges, as he conceded 15 runs in his third over against Mehidy Hasan Miraz. However, the young bowler showcased his resilience and adaptability by rebounding strongly in his final over.
