IND vs BAN, 3rd T20I: India's star wicket-keeper batter Sanju Samson repaid the trust shown by the team management by scoring the highest individual knock against Bangladesh in the shortest format. He was seen struggling in the first two matches and then he bounced back in style in the last match on Saturday in Hyderabad. He became the first Indian batter to have scored a T20I century against Bangladesh off 40 balls.
This is also the second fastest century in the shortest format by an Indian. Sanju's record of 40 balls is just behind Rohit Sharma's record of a hundred off 35 balls, which he scored against Sri Lanka in 2017 in Infore. Samson surpassed Rohit Sharma's 89, which was also the best by an Indian batter against the Bangla Tigers in T20Is.
Sanju Samson was at his absolute best since the first ball after Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and chose to bat first. He had smashed nine fours and eight sixes, which helped him to score his century.

Samson was quite ecstatic and celebrated this feat by taking off his helmet and receiving praise from the crowd. He was also seen hugging skipper Suryakumar Yadav, who was the other batter, who had scored a half-century off 23 balls.
Fastest hundred in T20Is for India:
1. Rohit Sharma - 35 balls vs Sri Lanka in Indore in 2017
2. Sanju Samson - 40 balls vs Bangladesh in Hyderabad in 2024
3. KL Rahul - 46 balls vs West Indies in Lauderhill in 2016
4. Abhishek Sharma - 46 balls vs Zimbabwe in Harare in 2024
Samson scored his half-century off just 22 balls and became the fastest half-centurion in the shortest format against the Bangla Tigers. He started his innings by going all-guns-blazing against pacer Taskin Ahmed, where he smashed four fours during the second over. Although the team suffered a huge blow as opener Abhishek Sharma fell cheaply the batting onslaught never stopped.
Samson was at his absolute best during the 10th over, when he smacked leg-spinner Rishad Hossain for five consecutive sixes off six balls. He showed his brilliant power-hitting abilities.
Samson played lots of brilliant shots and thus entered the Hyderabad crowd. When he smacked a six over the cover region in Mustafizur Rahman's over left the commentators stunned.
Samson and Suryakumar Yadav stitched a brilliant partnership of 173 runs off 70 balls for the second wicket and took the Bangladesh bowlers to the cleaners.
Samson was at his absolute best and got assistance from Suryakumar Yadav, who was equally lethal and helped the team score 200 runs in 15 overs.
