IND vs ENG, 1st Test: Indian spin maestros Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja made history in the ongoing first Test against England in Hyderabad when they surpassed the legendary pair of Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh, claiming their 502nd wicket together in Test cricket for India.

Jadeja while being happy for the milestone showed optimism about his longtime colleague Ashwin reaching the milestone of 500 career wickets in the ongoing match against England.

Ashwin began the match requiring 10 wickets to achieve the coveted 500-wicket mark. By the conclusion of England's first innings, the veteran off-spinner reduced the gap to seven, setting the stage for a potential historic achievement. Jadeja, who is approaching his milestone of 300 wickets, acknowledged that it might take the entire series for him to reach the feat.

"It will be a big achievement if Ashwin completes 500 Test wickets and I hope he gets it in this match. I am left with 25 wickets for 300 and it might take the whole series, but I wish Ashwin completes his 500 in this game itself and continues taking wickets for India," JioCinema quoted Jadeja as saying.

Both Jadeja and Ashwin played pivotal roles in India's bowling attack, securing three wickets each in England's first innings during the opening day of the Test.

"I really enjoy bowling with Ashwin, it is really helpful with two spinners bowling in tandem. We share a lot of messages around field setting, line and length and we are happy to contribute to India's win. We really enjoy the competition," Jadeja added.
