India achieved its highest PowerPlay score ever in a T20I during the fifth match against England at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, with 95/1, surpassing their previous records.

While registering a new record India shattered its previous record of scoring 82 runs in the PowerPlay, a feat it had achieved against Scotland in the 2021 T20 World Cup and later equaled in 2024 against Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, India's impressive PowerPlay score ranks as the fourth-highest in T20I history. The record for the highest PowerPlay score is held by Australia, who amassed a staggering 113 runs against Scotland in 2024.

In the ongoing match against England, Abhishek Sharma took charge of the Indian innings after Samson was dismissed for16, smashing the second-fastest fifty by an Indian in T20Is. He was joined by Tilak Varma, and together they formed a destructive partnership, racing to a 50-run stand in a mere 18 balls.
