IND vs ENG: England star batter Harry Brook will be returning to the UK and will not be part of the India Test tour, citing personal reasons. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed his unavailability for the series, set to kick off on January 25 in Hyderabad.
"Harry Brook is set to return home with immediate effect for personal reasons from the England Men’s Test tour of India. He will not be returning to India," ECB confirmed on their official handle.
"The Brook family respectfully requests privacy during this time. In light of this, the ECB and the family kindly request the media and the public to respect their wish for privacy and refrain from intruding on their private space," the statement added.
Brook's replacement is yet to be named by the ECB. The statement added that the substitute will be announced soon.
"The England selectors will confirm a replacement player for the tour in due course," ECB statement said in the deleted post.
"Our thoughts are with you at this time, Brooky," ECB added on X.
Later, ECB released another post on the inclusion of Dan Lawrence in the team and he is expected to join the squad within 24 hours.
"Surrey's Dan Lawrence to join the England Men's Test squad in the next 24 hours," ECB said in their latest post.

In 2022, the 24-year-old cricketer, Brook,made his Test debut, that has seen him participate in 12 Tests. During this period, Brook amassed a total of 1181 runs, including four centuries and seven half-centuries.
The upcoming tour of India would have been Brook's maiden experience in the country. England's previous visit to India in 2021 season resulted in the loss. India clinched the series with a 3-1 victory.
