India National Cricket Team vs England Cricket Team: England’s Harry Brook provided a rather unusual explanation ahead of the second T20I against India in Chennai, attributing his struggle against Varun Chakravarthy's spin in Kolkata to smog.
"With the smog the other night, it was a lot harder to pick. Hopefully, the air is a bit clearer here, and we can see the ball a bit easier. Facing spin in T20 cricket is probably the hardest thing in the game, especially because I always get out trying to absolutely smack it," Brook remarked.
Former India coach Ravi Shastri didn’t hold back, offering a sarcastic response: "Good news for Harry Brook. There is no smog here." Adding to the banter, when Chakravarthy dismissed Brook in the seventh over, Sunil Gavaskar humorously commented, "Light is clearer here. There is no smog."
