IND vs ENG: Speculations were rife that India's star pacer Jasprit Bumrah might not be playing the second Test against England, which would be held in Edgbaston next week but he kept the suspense going as he was seen bowling at full throttle during a training session on Saturday. As per ESPNCricinfo, he had bowled for more than half an hour during the practice session.
Bumrah had missed the training session on Friday and that's why the rumors spread in the country. He along with captain Shubman Gill and head coach Gautam Gambhir that he would be featuring in just three of the five Test matches so as to manage his workload and a decision on his availability for the 2nd Test match would be made in the next few days. According to the report, that decision would be made based on how Bumrah's body reacts.
The second Test match will start on July 2, Wednesday, where the Shubman Gill-led side will aim to bounce back after suffering a five-wicket loss during the series opener in Leeds. As per the report, skipper Gill, vice-captain Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, and Yashasvi Jaiswal didn't attend the optional training session.

The main aim of this session was the batting practice for team India's tailenders, which included fast bowlers since the team suffered batting collapses of 7/41 and 6/31 during both innings in Leeds. They would also be having an off day on Sunday and then the Men in Blue would be attending an extensive training on Monday and then a lighter one on Tuesday.
According to the report, India's star wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav too was seen bowling and batting on Saturday. He wasn't included in the playing XI of the series opener in Leeds, especially since star all-rounder Shardul Thakur failed to perform well. But it isn't clear whether the team management would defy Gautam Gambhir's wishes of having a safe batting depth instead of an aggressive bowling option.
If Bumrah does miss the second Test match, then the team management will heavily be dependent on Mohammed Siraj to spearhead their bowling attack. Akashdeep and Arshdeep Singh are the other pacers, who can be selected in the playing XI.
The Men in Blue haven't won a Test match at Edgbaston and will face the daunting task of playing against England, who too have bolstered their side by including bowlers like Jofra Archer and Gus Atkinson.
