IND vs ENG: India's first innings was undone after adding just 15 runs to their overnight total, thanks to Joe Root's two wickets in two balls. However, it was too little, too late for the English bowlers as India took a massive first-innings lead of 190 runs over the visitors.

India showed a dominant batting display on the second day of the opening Test against England at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, amassing a formidable total of 436 in response to England's 246.

Resuming at 421 for 7, Ravindra Jadeja (87 off 180 balls) and Axar Patel (44) added 78 runs for the eighth wicket. Despite Joe Root's commendable effort with the ball, claiming four wickets for 79 runs, India find themselves ahead in the game.

For India, KL Rahul contributed with 86 runs, while Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a quick-fired 80 in India's innings.

England's bowling attack, led by Root, faced challenges as India's lower order put up a resilient performance. Tom Hartley and Rehan Ahmed took two wickets each, but the visitors found it challenging to restrict India's batting onslaught.

As the pitch slowed down, Root and Mark Wood bowled eight sedate overs in the morning to contain Jadeja and Axar. When Leach, nursing a left knee injury, joined the attack, Axar capitalised on his overpitched deliveries with consecutive boundaries through cover drives.

However, Root returned to dismiss Jadeja lbw, the third Indian batter in the innings to fall in the 80s. On the very next ball, Root got an off-break delivery from around the wicket to turn in and dismissed Jasprit. Axar Patel, playing the wrong line of Rehan Ahmed, was the final wicket, as the ball remained low and undid the stumps.

At lunch, England was at 89-1. Zak Crawley was dismissed for 31 runs, falling to R Ashwin. Ben Duckett was at the crease with Ollie Pope, and England trails by 101 runs.
