Ranji Trophy: Delhi have been at the top of the headlines amid their disappointing campaign in the ongoing Ranji Trophy season and an instance on Friday provided another horrible chapter to it.
Delhi's star batter Ayush Badoni was asked to stay back in the hotel to leave him out of their match against Uttarakhand as he has been going through a rough patch with the bat.
The shocking decision was said to be taken as a satisfactory move for the powerful officials in the administration who wanted to teach the young batter a lesson.

Badoni, who plays for Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL, was kept out of 15 but that didn't make any difference to Delhi's dismal display with the bat this season.
They were bowled out for just 147 runs by Uttarakhand in their Group D match at the PCA Stadium in Mohali on the first day of the match.

In the five completed innings so far this season, Delhi have managed to cross the 200-run only thrice with Vaibhav Kandpal being the top run-getter for his 49 runs which he scored in their last match.,
However, it was Yash Dhull on Friday who top-scored with 47 runs before Uttarakhand took the upper hand being 98/4 at stumps.
Avneesh Sudha smashed a half-century for them and is still at the crease for 55 runs whereas Navdeep Saini picked up three wickets for Delhi.
It is to be noted that, Badoni is the only player in the current Delhi team who is the highly-rated player in the domestic circuit and scored 41 runs in their last match.
As per a report, Badoni was kept away to manage a vacant place for Kshitiz Sharma, who is believed to be close to a former BCCI official.
Badoni’s replacement Kshitiz was bowled for 8 after he let a ball from Abhay Negi alone.
Such instances in DDCA of undeserving cricketers making it to the Ranji squad at different levels have also taken place in the past as well.
It also has been learned that despite Kzhitiz Sharma’s ordinary outings, there was pressure on the team management to include him. He had scored only 28 and 4 in the opening match against Pondicherry.
