IND vs NED T20 World Cup 2026: Ex-India cricketer Harbhajan Singh is of the view that when someone is being dismissed on a duck thrice, there are a lot of things that come up in that batter's mind, and that Abhishek Sharma should back his abilities even though he hasn't scored any runs in the ongoing mega event. He came into the match against the Netherlands on the back of yet another duck against arch-rival Pakistan in Colombo. During that match, he tried to go big during Salman Ali Agha's over as he was seen struggling to face the offside delivery.
Abhishek found himself in a similar situation against the Netherlands, where he had a hard time going past the offside field and played his usual slog shot. But he mistimed a quicker delivery, which had hit directly at the stumps, and thus his knock came to an end.
“When you go through something like this, a lot of things run through your mind. I have a small message for Abhishek. I would advise him to believe in his abilities, and this too shall pass," Harbhajan Singh was quoted as saying on his YouTube channel.
“I am sure that the day his bat speaks, it will speak rightly. We are all waiting, and we hope that he comes to form in that big match against South Africa. I would also advise him to leave that midwicket area for a while now and look to play straight," he added.
“Once he scores 1-2 runs and then he gets some shots out, then he will get his confidence back and also his form. South Africa might also look to bring an off-spinner straightaway, but it doesn’t matter," he concluded.
Abhishek, who hasn't scored a single run in this T20 World Cup, was seen practising batting for an hour before the match against the Netherlands, but things didn't work in his favour.
