India vs New Zealand Line-ups: India's top-order batter Tilak Varma has been ruled out of the fourth and fifth T20I against New Zealand as per a media release by the BCCI (Board of Cricket Control in India). The release stated that Tilak will require additional time to regain complete match fitness. Notably, the 23-year-old is currently at BCCI's CoE (Centre of Excellence) for his rehabilitation as he continues to make steady progress to attain full match fitness.
Shreyas Iyer will continue to stay with the squad as Tilak's replacement, BCCI confirmed on Monday.

"India batter Tilak Varma has resumed physical training and is making steady progress with his rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence," the media release stated. The Men’s Selection Committee has recommended that Shreyas Iyer will continue as Tilak Varma’s replacement for the remaining matches."
Tilak To Join T20 World Cup Squad On This Date
BCCI also clarified that Tilak will link up with the Indian squad after regaining complete match fitness on 3rd February for the T20 World Cup 2026. India are set to play their only warm-up match against South Africa as per reports.
"Tilak will link up with the squad in Mumbai once he has regained full match fitness on 3rd February, ahead of India’s warm-up match for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026."
