IND vs NZ, ODI World Cup 2023: Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was left with not much to say about Virat Kohli after the star batter played a remarkable match-winning knock of 95 runs in 104 deliveries against New Zealand on Sunday.
The Men in Blue went past their toughest challenge to claim an ICC tournament victory over the Blackcaps in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.
While Kohli helped India remain undefeated in the tournament with a fifth successive win, Rohit mentioned his brilliance by saying that something like that was expected from the former skipper who pulled off another memorable run chase for his team.

This was India's first-ever win over New Zealand in an ICC event in 20 years as they leapfrogged the Tom Latham-led side to return to the top spot in the points table.
"Nothing much to say about Virat. We've seen him do this for so many years. He backs himself to do the job. Towards the end, there was a bit of pressure with a few wickets lost, but Kohli and Jadeja took us home," Rohit Sharma said at the post-match presentation.
Virat might have missed out on his 49th ton and a chance to match Sachin Tendulkar's legendary record, but his 95-run knock on a tricky pitch provided a massive boost to the team as they wish to lift the much-awaited ICC trophy.
It was Virat Kohli's 48th fifty-plus score in a successful run chase for India in ODI cricket. The star batter has 23 hundreds to his name in successful run chases, 9 more than the legendary Sachin Tendulkar.
Kohli also went past Rohit in the batting charts in the ongoing tournament, becoming the top run-getter with 354 runs in five matches.
Rohit also lauded Mohammed Shami's performance on his return to the side as he ended up picking a five-wicket haul in his very first match of the tournament.
The Blackcaps at once were looking well set to post something around or above 300 before Shami bowled a magnificent spell of 5/54 to restrict them to 273.
"Shami took the opportunity with both hands. He's got class and so much experience and he used the conditions really well. At one stage NZ put up a big partnership there. Dew came in as well. But we have to give credits to the bowlers in the back end," Rohit added.
