IND vs NZ T20 World Cup 2026 Final: India's star batter Virat Kohli applauded the Men in Blue for lifting the T20 World Cup after defeating New Zealand by 96 runs in Ahmedabad on Sunday. Batting first, they set a massive target of 255 runs, led by Sanju Samson's match-winning 89.

Chasing, the Mitchell Santner-led side fell for 159 runs. Jasprit Bumrah (4/15) and Axar Patel (3/27) took the most wickets. After the win, Kohli congratulated the team, saying no other team matches their aggressive play.

"Champions. Phenomenal win for Team India in Ahmedabad. No match for the explosive cricket we played all tournament. The boys showed great character by continuing to fight and becoming world champions once again. Congratulations to all the players and management for this feat. Jai Hind," Kohli wrote on X.

He was also part of India's 2024 T20 World Cup-winning team, earning Player of the Match for his 76-run knock against the Aiden Markram-led side in the West Indies. After that match, he and Rohit Sharma retired from the shortest format.

India's pacer Jasprit Bumrah also won Player of the Match for his four wickets. He ended the tournament as the joint-highest wicket-taker, claiming 14 wickets along with Varun Chakravarthy.

Sanju Samson received the Player of the Tournament after his third consecutive fifty in the event. He finished as the third-highest run-scorer with 321 runs in five matches, averaging 80.25 and striking at 199.37.
