India and Pakistan were up against each other for an expected high-voltage encounter to produce some quality cricket at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday.

The arch-rivals faced off for the second time in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023, making it their first meet in the Super Four stage of the tournament.

The game turned out to be nothing different from what was witnessed in the last match between these two teams as rain played a spoilsport and didn't allow it to conclude.

Meanwhile, the match was forced to be pushed to the reserve day, which is Monday with the match set to resume from the exact stage where it stopped on Sunday, ensuring a fair chance for both teams to compete in a full 50-overs-a-side match.

While it was a concerning weather conditions all day long in Colombo apart from the bright and sunny morning, the weather forecast of the reserve day increased tensions among players, fans, and spectators.

IND vs PAK, Asia Cup 2023 Reserve Day Weather Forecast

Before excitement makes its way back for the mega clash, rain is predicted to once again ruin the India vs Pakistan proceedings on the reserve day. Another washout could be on the cards as it didn't look promising with rain likely to affect the game heavily.

As per AccuWeather, there are chances of 80 percent rainfall around 5 PM in Colombo. The action, on the other hand, resumes at 3:00 PM local time. The rain probability will drop a bit to 49 % around 7 PM IST whereas the rain forecast will remain around the range of 47 to 51% till the end of the day.

Meanwhile, if we look at the hourly weather forecast on Weather.com, the chances of rain never reduce below 70 percent after 3 PM. As per the information, the maximum chance of pelting is around 5:30 PM in the evening.

Notably, India lost momentum after the rain break when these two teams last met in the group stage on September 2. The same overcast weather conditions are expected on Monday as well.

Talking about the match, Pakistan after winning the toss opted to bowl first with India off to a promising start with the bat.

Skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill looked on song as they added 121 runs for the first wicket with both hitting their respective half-centuries.

Babar Azam's side bounced back by sending both openers back to the pavilion before Virat Kohli and KL Rahul joined each other at the crease and looked to rebuild India's innings.

It was just the start of the 25th over when it started raining heavily and didn't allow a ball to be bowled since then with weather conditions showing no mercy.

The rain stopped after a while but it looked too late as the ground conditions were not so much helpful to resume the play with multiple muddy patches in a few parts of the field.

The game, after a number of inspections from umpires was pushed to the reserve day that was specially kept for this game by the Asian Cricket Council.
