India vs Pakistan, Asia Cup 2025: Stamping their authority in the match, India claimed a commanding 7-wicket win over Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 on Sunday. India captain Suryakumar Yadav stunned everyone as he dedicated the victory to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and the Indian armed forces who gave a befitting response via Operation Sindoor.

Notably, head coach Gautam Gambhir, while speaking to the broadcasters, expressed solidarity as well with the families of the Pahalgam terrorist attack victims. Also, Gambhir thanked the Indian armed forces for successfully executing Operation Sindoor.

“As a team, we wanted to show solidarity to victims of the Pahalgam attack. Thanks to our soldiers for Operation Sindoor," Gambhir said.

Gambhir’s statement was a testimony to the fact that the players and team management were on the same page to dedicate India’s Asia Cup win against Pakistan to the Indian Armed Forces. Speaking at the post-match presentation, Suryakumar said the Indian cricket team stands in solidarity with the victims of the unfortunate terrorist attack that happened earlier this year, in April.

"I think it's a perfect occasion and taking the time out, we stand by with the victims of the families of Pahalgam terror attack and we express our solidarity," Suryakumar told the broadcaster after the match here.

"Also the most important thing for me, we want to dedicate today's win to all our armed forces who showed a lot of bravery and hope they continue to inspire us all and we give them more reasons on the ground, whenever we get an opportunity to make them smile," he added.

The Indian team players were not seen shaking hands with their Pakistan counterparts after the match, as teams usually do after the conclusion of a contest.

India have sustained at the top of the points table with two out of two wins in the Asia Cup 2025. The Men-In-Blue will face Oman in their next game, scheduled to take place on 19th September.
