Pakistan captain Salman Agha won the toss and opted to bat against arch-rival India in a blockbuster clash at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on Sunday.

As the emotions are running high with just a few minutes left for the toss, India head coach Gautam Gambhir was seen addressing the India team hurdle ahead of their clash against Pakistan.

“The quality has deteriorated a lot. Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Shoaib Akhtar, Saeed Anwar, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Younis Khan, Mohammad Yousuf. All world-class cricketers. And now look who is playing for Pakistan. Excuse me, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Wasim Akram are not the same. There can be no comparison between the two teams in terms of talent," said Ganguly.

"We are not just looking forward to the Pakistan-India match, but we are looking forward to winning the tournament," Saim Ayub said in a pre-match press conference.

According to many media reports, the Indian cricket team could resort to symbolic protests during the Asia Cup match against Pakistan. This might take the form of players wearing black armbands or cold-shoulder traditional post-match handshakes with Pakistan players. 

“Enjoy, it’s a game of cricket. Forget about everything other than cricket. One team will win and one team will lose. Just enjoy the moment if you win the game. Pressure will come, enjoy that and show discipline because this is just a game. I enjoyed every game against India and so did players from the opposition," Akram said while speaking to AFP.

“Pakistan have a chance as they won a tri-series last week. They shouldn’t think that we just need to win against India, but should think of winning the Asia Cup. You can lose to a big team, but even then, stand up and play well in the tournament," Akram said.

"I don't want to say anything. Unfortunate that this match is happening. I'm very sad. How can you watch it? I said earlier that I would boycott this match. I also said that I will personally boycott the entire Asia Cup and I'm not watching it. From Pulwama to Pahalgam, there are so many terrorist attacks and everyone knows where these terrorists come from and despite that, you have to play this match," Tiwary told IANS

Pakistan's last victory over India in the Asia Cup T20 format was in the 2022 edition, specifically in the Super Four clash. In Dubai, Pakistan chased down India's score of 181/7 with one ball to spare, winning by 5 wickets.
