IND vs PAK T20 World Cup 2026: India's star all-rounder Hardik Pandya looked at his absolute best. He had bowled the first over during the second innings. While chasing a target of 176 runs, the Men in Green were seen struggling as Pandya first dismissed Sahibzada Farhan for a duck. They were reeling at 0/1. Pandya had bowled a brilliant maiden over.
Pakistan skipper Salman Agha had won the toss and chose to bowl first during the high-octane clash against India on Sunday.
While batting first, the Suryakumar Yadav-led side had posted a target of 175/6. They were aiming to score more than 200 runs with the way Ishan Kishan (77) was batting. But Saim Ayub helped Pakistan bounce back by registering figures of 3/25.
Despite some good batting from Suryakumar Yadav (32) and Shivam Dube (27), India finished at a reasonable total of 175.
India made two changes to their side, bringing in Abhishek Sharma and Kuldeep Yadav in place of Sanju Samson and Arshdeep Singh. Pakistan is playing the same XI.
Earlier, the warm trait has been discarded as Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav avoided shaking hands with his Pakistani counterpart Salman Agha at the toss, ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup Group A match here at the R. Premadasa Stadium on Sunday (February 15, 2026). This aversion to a sporting tradition was first revealed last year when India competed against Pakistan in the Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
