India pacer Prasidh Krishna has been ruled out of the third and final ODI against the West Indies after picking up a niggle during the second match in Guwahati.

The Daily Jagran understands that Prasidh, who could bowl only five overs in the second ODI, will miss the final match of the series in Mullanpur on Saturday.

India have already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series after beating the West Indies by eight wickets in Guwahati.

Prasidh could bowl only five overs

Prasidh felt discomfort during the second ODI and was unable to complete his 10-over quota. He finished with figures of 1/45 as the West Indies posted 405/7, their first 400-plus ODI total.

India chased down the huge target in 43.3 overs, with eight wickets in hand, to take a 2-0 lead.

India batting coach Sitanshu Kotak had confirmed after the match that Prasidh was being monitored and would undergo further assessment and scans.

A BCCI source has now confirmed that the pacer has been ruled out of the third ODI.

Siraj could return to playing XI

With Prasidh unavailable, senior pacer Mohammed Siraj could get a chance in the playing XI for the final ODI.

Siraj has not featured in either of the first two matches of the series. India handed ODI debuts to Naman Dhir in the first game and Auqib Nabi in the second.

The third ODI will be played in Mullanpur on Saturday.

Prasidh is also not part of India’s squad for the upcoming T20I series against the West Indies, which is scheduled to start from October 6 and the opener clash will take place in Lucknow.
