IND vs ZIM: The new-look Indian cricket team has reached Zimbabwe for the five-match T20I series, which will begin on Saturday, July 6. It should be noted here that this team of youngsters under the guidance of Shubman Gill will lock horns with Zimbabwe. VVS Laxman, who is the head of NCA, will be the head coach for this entire series.  

Just before the five-match T20I series, the Men in Blue reached Zimbabwe on Wednesday, July 3, and received a warm welcome. The Zimbabwe Cricket Board shared a video on their official X account, where VVS Laxman is seen coming out from the airport, along with the whole team and the support staff.

The BCCI revealed that they had made three changes in the team for this series as batter Sai Sudharsan, wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma, and pacer Harshit Rana have been included in the squad. All these players will replace Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shivam Dube in the team for the first two T20Is as these three players were stuck with the Indian squad in Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl and would be joining the team later.  

It should be noted here that Harshit Rana had a dream run while playing for KKR in IPL 2024, as he was the fourth-highest wicket-taker in the cash-rich tournament. He took 19 wickets after playing in 11 matches at an average of 20.15 and an economy of 9.08.  

Harshit Rana's cryptic post after being ignored 

Initially, Harshit wasn't included in the 15-member squad, so he vented out his frustration by sharing a cryptic post on his official Instagram account, which said, โ€˜Everything will come to you at the perfect time'. But as soon as he got selected, his IPL franchise KKR congratulated him with a special post, โ€œGod's Plan, babay, Chalo Zimbabwe!โ€ on their official X account.  

At the same time, Sai Sudharsan also had a dream run, as he was the sixth-highest run-getter in IPL 2024, where he scored 531 runs whereas Dhruv Jurel scored 195 runs.
