Initially, the Indian bowlers dominated as Arshdeep Singh (2/59) and Prasidh Krishna (1/57) starred with the new ball and left the visitors reeling for 16/4 as Nishant Sandhu also took the wicket of Sinethemba Qeshile (15 off 20) and left the visitors tottering at 53/5.

And just when the visitors were about to lose, Dian Forrester (77 off 83) and Delano Potgieter (90 off 105) helped them bounce back by stitching a partnership of 113 runs for the sixth wicket. Riyan Parag ended this partnership by taking the wicket of Forrester, but then Potgieter held the innings from one end.
