Duleep Trophy 2024: Team India batter Rinku Singh is set to join Abhimanyu Easwaran-led India B squad for the remaining fixtures in the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2024.

A report by the Times of India confirmed that the 26-year-old, who is currently taking part in the UPT20 League captaining the Meerut Mavericks, will exit the squad to join Abhimanyu Easwaran-led India B squad, which recently claimed 76 runs against India A.

“My job is to work hard, and I am extremely delighted to have received the call for Duleep Trophy. When the teams were initially announced, I was not selected. I was disheartened because my responsibility is to put in the hard work which I am doing. Today, I feel even more elated as I am here to represent India B in the prestigious Duleep Trophy,” Rinku said as quoted by TOI.

Four players from Uttar Pradesh will participate in the domestic tournament also Dhruv Jurel and Yash Dayal are likely to sit out after their selection in the Test squad for the Bangladesh series, starting from September 19 in Chennai.

Meanwhile, Rinku and Aaqib Khan will participate in the tournament, representing Uttar Pradesh. According to Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association President Ankit Chatterjee, Jurel and Dayal have already joined the India B squad in Bengaluru, confirming their unavailability for the upcoming games.

Rinku is a well-known name in the domestic and international circuits with his finishing skills with the bat in the shortest format. He has a very respectable first-class form scoring 3173 runs in 47 matches, including 7 centuries and 20 fifties.

Talking about the Duleep Trophy, India B will lock horns with Ruturaj Gaikwad-led India C at the ACA ADCA Ground, in Anantapur on September 12.
