IND vs PAK WCL 2025 Semifinal: EaseMyTrip, which is the sponsor of the India vs Pakistan semifinal match of the World Championship of Legends 2025, has withdrawn from the high-octane clash just a few hours after India qualified for the semis with a brilliant win. Nishant Pitti, who is the founder of EaseMyTrip, has sent a stern warning on his official X account, stating that they won't be sponsoring the India vs Pakistan match in the ongoing tournament.

Pitti did congratulate the Yuvraj Singh-led side for qualifying for the semis, but said that they don't believe that "terror and cricket cannot go hand in hand."

“We applaud Team India @India_Champions for their outstanding performance in the World Championship of Legends, you’ve made the nation proud. However, the upcoming semi-final against Pakistan is not just another game. Terror and cricket cannot go hand in hand. EaseMyTrip, we stand with India. We cannot support any event that attempts to normalise relations with a country that promotes terrorism. The people of India have spoken, and we hear them. EaseMyTrip will not be associated with the India vs Pakistan match in WCL. Some things are bigger than sport. Nation first, business later. Always. Jai Hind,” Nishant Pitti had written on his official X account.

India had also pulled out from their group stage match against Pakistan, as a lot of players weren't willing to play this match. Players like Shikhar Dhawan and Harbhajan Singh had begun this boycott.

Dhawan had also shown a screenshot of his last mail to the WCL authorities, where he revealed that he won't be playing against Pakistan owing to the political tensions between both countries.

On Sunday, in their clash against England, Shikhar Dhawan was asked by one of the fans as to whether he would be playing in the semifinal match against Pakistan. To this, Dhawan was seen getting annoyed and gave a blunt reply.

"Brother, you're asking this question at the wrong place right now. If you're asking that, do you think I’m going to answer? You shouldn't be asking this question. And if I haven’t played earlier, then I still won’t play," he had said.

India Beat West Indies to Reach Semis

The Yuvraj Singh-led side had qualified for the semifinal by chasing a target of 145 runs against the West Indies during their last group stage match. It was their first win of the tournament. They needed to chase this target in just 14 overs. On the back of Stuart Binny's match-winning knock of 50 runs off 21 balls, they chased down the target quite comfortably in 13.2 overs and had qualified for the semis, joining teams like Pakistan, South Africa, and Australia.

West Indies and England have been eliminated after the Yuvraj Singh-led side's qualification.
