IND vs AUS 2nd ODI: Rohit Sharma's masterful 77, Shreyas Iyer's resilient 61, and a crucial late partnership between Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh formed the bedrock of India's strong innings to post a compelling total of 264/9 against Australia's belligerent bowling attack in the second ODI of the series at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide on Thursday.

India's third fast bowler Harshit Rana provided a late burst for the Indian innings as he plummets Adam Zampa, who bagged four wickets, for 16 runs courtesy of three boundaries.

Rana added crucial 37 runs with Arshdeep Singh for the second last wicket to soar India's total, built on the strong foundation of Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer's fifties.

Put to bat first, Rohit played an innings of 73 runs in 97 balls and his knock was decorated by seven boundaries and two hits over the fence, while Iyer made his runs off 77 deliveries that included seven fours.

The fans faced an utter disappointment as the comeback man, Virat Kohli, was dismissed again for a duck. After the top order fell apart, Axar Patel also played a good hand, slamming 44 off 41.

Towards the end, Harshit Rana (24 not out) and Arshdeep Singh (13) shared a crucial 37-run stand for the ninth wicket to take India to the competitive total.

For Australia, leg-spinner Adam Zampa scalped four wickets, conceding 60 runs from his 10 overs, while right-arm fast bowler Xavier Bartlett bagged three wickets for 39 runs, including the golden scalp of Kohli.
