India's star batter Rohit Sharma was their highest run scorer as he had scored a gritty knock of 73 runs, whereas middle-order batters like Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel scored gritty knocks of 61 and 44 runs. The visitors were hoping that either one of them would have scored a century and helped them post a target of more than 290.

The host too had a shaky start to their chase as bowlers like Arshdeep Singh, Washington Sundar, and Harshit Rana took the crucial wickets. But owing to lots of drop catches, Matthew Short took advantage and scored a brilliant knock of 71 runs. And then Ooper Connolly (61*) and Mitchell Owen (36) took the team across the line and are now leading the series.
