IND vs AUS: India's T20I vice captain Shubman Gill had a flying start to the ongoing five-match T20I series against Australia, where he scored a gritty knock of 37 runs, but then rain played a spoilsport in Canberra. And then in the next two innings, as the visitors tried to make a comeback to level this series, Gill scored 20 runs in Melbourne and 15 in Hobart.
Even if he doesn't perform well in the next few innings, it might not be problematic for him, but since his presence in the playing XI means that a talented player like Yashasvi Jaiswal has to sit out, that has put pressure on Gill.
Gill is a brilliant player and has shown earlier as well that he can be a brilliant all-format player, just like Jaiswal. He will try to bounce back in the 4th T20I, which will be held in Carrara Oval.

Gill’s T20I Record
He played his debut T20I match way back in January 2023 and has scored 762 runs after playing in 31 innings as an opener and at a strike rate of 140.85. He had hit one hundred and three fifties till now, which also includes 126 runs, which was the highest as an Indian batter in this format, which was then broken by Abhishek Sharma.
It has been 13 innings since he hit a fifty.
At the same time, Jaiswal has scored 723 runs after playing in 22 innings at a strike rate of 164.31. He too has hit a ton and five fifties as he last played for India in this format against Sri Lanka in July last year.
