IND vs AUS 3rd Test: India captain Rohit Sharma was once again at his absolute best during the post-match press conference on Wednesday while responding cheekily about Indian batters Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane's retirement. Since veteran spinner R Ashwin stunned everyone by announcing his retirement from international cricket, especially after the third Test match against Australia ended in a tie, the captain was asked a lot of questions about him.

And during one incident when he was asked as to whether he would miss playing with players like Ashwin, Pujara, and Rahane eventually, he hilariously replied and reckoned that he would get into trouble asking such questions.

Rohit also acknowledged the fact that both Pujara and Rahane can still come back to the national squad in Tests, his hilarious response did make everyone laugh in the post-match press conference.

"By the way, Ajinkya Rahane has not retired. You will get me in trouble, (Aap mereko marriage year). You are saying as if all three have retired. Pujara also hasn't retired yet. You named all three that is why I am clarifying. Pujara and Rahane are not here at the moment but I don't know about the future. They can come back. So, only Ash won't be there because he has officially announced his retirement", Rohit told reporters in the post-match press conference.

Ashwin drew curtains to his illustrious career as the country's second-highest wicket-taker in the longest format as he had taken 537 wickets after playing in 106 Test matches.

"I won't take too much of your time. Today will be the last day for me as an India cricketer", Ashwin told reporters in the post-match press conference, which he attended with skipper Rohit Sharma.

During the five-match Test series against Australia, the veteran featured in just the pink-ball Test in Adelaide and had taken just one wicket.

"He was very, very sure of his decision. We should stand by what he wants", Rohit concluded.

On the fifth and the last day of the third Test match, Ashwin also shared an emotional hug with Virat Kohli inside the dressing room, just a few hours before they made the official announcement.
