India vs Australia ODI Series: India are set to face Australia in a much-awaited three-match ODI series, which starts on October 19. The first ODI is scheduled to take place at Optus Stadium in Perth and the next two matches will be played at Adelaide Oval on October 23 and at Sydney Cricket Ground on October 25.
Shubman Gill will be leading the Indian team, having been appointed as the team's new skipper in the format after replacing Rohit Sharma. However, Rohit continues to be a part of the ODI team as he made his return to the team along with Virat Kohli. The veteran duo made their last appearance for India in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final against New Zealand. The Men in Blue won that tournament in the UAE under Rohit's captaincy.
The three-match ODI series in Australia will also mark the beginning of India's preparations for the upcoming World Cup 2027. However, the major focus will be on Virat and Rohit, considering the speculations around their future in the format.
