Saif Hassan kept Bangladesh's hopes alive towards the end as he fought like a lone warrior with his 69-run knock, which he played in 51 balls on the back of three fours and five sixes, whereas Parvez Hossain Emon came up with a contribution of 21 runs. Apart from these two, no other batter managed to touch even a double-digit.

Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the bowlers for the Men in Blue as he unleashed another match-winning effort, taking three wickets for 18 runs in his four overs, whereas Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy found a couple of scalps each.

"We didn't get to bat first in this tournament. I think we batted first against Oman, but we wanted to bat first in the Super Fours and see how it goes. Looking at their bowling lineup, they had a left-arm spinner and a leg spinner. I think Dube was perfect for that occasion in that 7-15 overs range. But it didn't work, that's how things go. If the outfield had been really fast, it would have been 180-185, but with the bowling lineups we have, if we bowl 12-14 good overs, we will win on most occasions," Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav said at the toss.

Earlier, India couldn't capitalise on a fiery start after being put into bat first, but managed to post a challenging total of 168/8 in their 20 overs. Abhishek Sharma continued his incredible form as he played an incredible knock of 75 runs in 37 balls on the back of six fours and five sixes.
