India vs Bangladesh, Asia Cup 2025: Abhishek Sharma smashed a remarkable fifty as he produced another impressive knock for India during their match against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup 2025 Super Fours at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday, September 24.
This was Abhishek's second successive fifty in this ongoing continental tournament as he repeated Virat Kohli's remarkable record. He is now the third overall batter to score 200 runs in one edition of the Asia Cup T20Is. The 25-year-old left-handed batter from Punjab, who tops the ICC T20I batter’s ranking, needed 27 runs to join the 200-run club in the T20I format of the Asia Cup.

He achieved the objective by hitting Mustafizur Rahman for a six on the last ball of the fifth over.
The overall record of scoring the most runs in one edition of the Asia Cup T20Is is in the name of Mohammad Rizwan. The Pakistani wicketkeeper-batter played six matches in the 2022 edition and scored 281 runs. On the other hand, Virat Kohli amassed a total of 276 runs in five matches for Team India in the Asia Cup 2022.

Abhishek played a 75-run knock against Bangladesh in 37 balls on the back of six fours and five sixes as India posted a challenging total of 168/6 in their 20 overs after being put into bat first. On the other hand, Hardik Pandya scored 38 runs, whereas Shubman Gill came up with the contribution of 29 runs in 19 balls.
India have been the most dominant team in the ongoing tournament so far with four out of four wins, and a victory over Bangladesh will seal their place in the final.
