India vs England 5th Test: India coach Gautam Gambhir, usually known for his calm behaviour inside the dressing room, shed his stoic persona as he smiled, letting his emotions take over, which sparked wild celebrations in the dressing room after India scripted a sensational series-levelling victory at The Oval against England.
The thousands of Oval spectators were at the edge of their seats with the tension inside brewing as Jamie Overton hit back-to-back boundaries to get England rolling. However, the momentum was quickly shifted when Mohammed Siraj delivered a stunning spell, dismissing Jamie Smith and then Overton in quick succession.
The 'kiss of death' was delivered by Prasidh Krishna, who shattered Josh Tongue's stumps, leaving India just one wicket shy of miraculous victory.
A video posted by The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on its social media handles showed Gambhir clapping hard in a raw dressing room celebration. In the video, Gamhir was seen sending signals to the fielders from the dressing room with the possibility of the match being gone either way.
The moment Siraj cleaned up Gus Atkinson -England's last batter- with that 143 kph yorker, the entire team management went into jubilation mode, jumping in delight.
