IND vs ENG 5th Test: India's 'war horse' Mohammed Siraj's tireless efforts throughout the five-match Test series earned him widespread respect as England captain Ben Stokes and batter Harry Brook lauded the pace powerhouse for his remarkable work ethic and unwavering commitment.

Siraj, with his relentless efforts of pushing his limits to unprecedented heights, redefined the concept of workload management and all the talk about it and his numbers in the five Tests narrate an epic saga of unwavering dedication to the game.

Siraj finished his England tour with the extraordinary figures of 1113 deliveries, 23 wickets at an average of 32.43, and was the leading wicket-taker in the series, shaping the narrative of the five-match Test series between India and England.

With ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah's absence limiting him to just three Tests, Siraj stepped up and became the de facto spearhead of India's pace attack. Charting in the unfamiliar territory, Siraj, who was accustomed to bowling in the shadow of Bumrah, rose to the challenge, emerging as the primary force.

After Siraj sealed The Oval miraculous victory for India with 6 runs, England's emerging talent Brook, who was named Player of the Series, said Siraj deserved success.

“We came into the day very confident. We had two very good players out there, and I thought we were going to easily see it home. But the way the Indians fought back and the way Siraj bowled, it deserved every success," Brook said.

“Siraj has played five Test matches in a row, bowling 85mph every delivery. He’s had a phenomenal series, and I respect what he’s done this series a lot. Not being able to win it is devastating. Happy to contribute as much as I have," Brook added.

IND vs ENG: Ben Stokes on Siraj

Ben Stokes, who was ruled out of the fifth and final Test due to injury, expressed his admiration for India pacer and lauded Siraj’s consistency and competitive spirit.

“I’ve always had great respect and admiration for Mohammed Siraj as a competitor. He just keeps coming and coming and coming. You know that he’s always going to be in the fight with you. Again, just another example of what it means," Stokes said at the press conference after the match.

“This game in particular just kept going and going and going. Oppositions and all that kind of stuff. I’ve always had a lot of admiration and respect for the way that Mohamed Siraj goes about his cricket and what he does and how he takes it on," he added.
