IND vs ENG Lord's Test: After India's vice-captain Rishabh Pant missed Day 2 of the ongoing third Test at iconic Lord's due to an index finger injury, he was seen practising in the nets, carefully assessing his hand movement as he worked on his batting strokes.
In a social media post by the Sports Editor of Hindi daily newspaper Dainik Jagran, Abhishek Tripathi - Pant was seen honing his batting skills in the nets, a diligent effort to get back on the pitch.
While he was practising, a fan standing behind asked him if his hand had healed, to answer that the shawbuckling wicketkeeper-batter turned back and said, "I'm trying to find out."
Meanwhile, before Day 2's play starts at the historic Lord's, BCCI provided an update on India's swashbuckling wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, stating that the cricketer is still recovering from his injury and will not take the field on the second day of the Lord's test.

"Rishabh Pant is still recovering from the hit on his left index finger. The BCCI medical team continues to monitor his progress. Dhruv Jurel will continue to keep wickets on Day 2," BCCI wrote on X.
In the 34th over bowled by Jasprit Bumrah, Pant made a dive to pick up the ball, but could not get it cleanly in his hands, making England pick two runs off byes. Following that, he was seen in a lot of pain and had to leave the field for medical attention.
Pant suffered a blow to his left index finger while trying a leg-side stop off a Jasprit Bumrah delivery during the 34th over of the England innings on the opening day on Thursday. Pant was in discomfort but completed his keeping duties till the end of the over before handing gloves to Dhruv Jurel to take over.
On the second morning before the start of the proceedings, Pant did try some routines but never looked completely comfortable, and it was evident that he wouldn't take the field on the second day.
