IND vs ENG: The vice captain of the Indian Test team, Rishabh Pant, has shown his frustration due to his injured left foot, which is in a plaster, and posted a picture of it on his official Instagram account. The star wicketkeeper-batter got injured on the first day of the fourth Test match against England in Manchester, during the recently concluded Test series, which is being considered one of the best of the modern era.
Pant, who was the side's vice-captain and also one of the consistent performers of this series, proved his worth by smashing hundreds during both innings of the series opener. But on the first day of the fourth Test match, he was hit on his left foot, and he was seen being stretchered on a golf cart.

"I hate this sooo much," he had written as the caption of the post. The BCCI had conducted a late-night meeting that day, and the medical team then revealed that he would need a six-week rest. After being asked whether Pant could still bat during the fourth Test match with the help of the painkillers, they said, "He could, if need be."

Initially, Pant had shared a video of him baking pizzas, even though he was slightly limping, donning a chef's apron, and was seen kneading dough and arranging the toppings. "Ghar pe to kuch banaya nahi hai, yaha pizza bana raha hai" ("I haven't cooked anything at home, and here I am making pizza"), he was heard as saying in the video and wrote an Italian caption to the post, "Impasto, salsa, forno and me." In the video, Pant was heard as saying, "Today I'm going to show you how to make pizza. I think I'm going to make vegetarian pizza."
When the match progressed, Pant once again came into bat and was seen limping while climbing down the stairs, and continued his knock after Shardul Thakur was dismissed. He retired hurt after scoring 37 runs and then scored a gritty knock of 54 runs off 75 balls, and he was thus praised for his brilliant effort.
Gautam Gambhir, who is the head coach of the Indian cricket team, called Pant's innings a defining moment. "The character and foundation of the team will be built on what Pant did. "Any amount of praise is not enough for him, especially batting with a broken foot. Not many people have done that in the past. I think generations to come will talk about this - that there was someone who batted with a broken foot," Gambhir told reporters during the post-match press conference.
"It's unfortunate because of the kind of form he was in, but he's an important member of the Test side. I hope he recovers quickly and comes back to deliver for us again," he concluded.
