IND vs ENG 4th Test: Ex-England cricketer Nasser Hussain has reckoned that how Shubman Gill and KL Rahul batted on the fourth day of the ongoing match, it looked like Rishabh Pant might not have to come into bat, and even if he does, then he would once again stand up for the side since he is a street fighter. After losing Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan for ducks during the second innings, Gill and Rahul batted patiently and stitched a partnership of 174 runs, and tried to reduce the hosts' lead of 311 runs.
After sustaining a toe fracture on the first day of the fourth Test match, Pant was seen struggling to bat on the second day.
“The other thing now with this partnership is that at two down early, there was very little chance of Rishabh Pant coming out to bat. If they get close and then they get ahead, Pant will be hobbling down those stairs because he is an absolute street fighter, and then we’ll have a situation where he’ll try and survive," Hussain was quoted as saying to Sky Sports.

“So England now will have to get eight wickets as opposed to seven. It’s not just the runs but the way he (Gill) gets them. In terms of the temperament to come in at 0/2 and on a hat-trick, I don’t think you can ask for two better players, who are so calm at the crease, than KL Rahul and Shubman Gill," he concluded.
Pant got injured after scoring a gritty knock of 37 runs during the first innings and then scored another 17 runs when he came to the bat on the second day.
On Day 2, Pant batted with a fractured toe and smashed a half-century. Ever since he got injured on Day 1, it was revealed that he won't be keeping the wickets but would bat if the team needs him to.
