IND vs ENG 4th Test: England Test skipper Ben Stokes achieved a rare double of scoring 7000 runs and taking 200 wickets, but he still isn't the world's best all-rounder, as per ex-India cricketer Kapil Dev. During an interaction at the Professional Golf Tour of India event, he reckoned that Stokes isn't the best all-rounder of the modern era and was way behind Ravindra Jadeja.

Ben Stokes, who is one of England's most influential cricketers, ended his century drought against India at Old Trafford. After scoring the century, Stokes had become just the third cricketer in the history of this format to have scored 7000 runs and taken 200 wickets in the longest format.

On the other hand, Ravindra Jadeja has scored 3697 runs and has taken 326 wickets under his belt. But according to Kapil Dev, Jadeja is a much better all-rounder than Stokes.

"I don't want to compare. Stokes is a good all-rounder, but I still feel Jadeja is ahead. He is performing far better," Kapil Dev was heard as saying at the event.

The visitors are in a tricky situation during the ongoing Test match. The Indian bowlers had a forgetful outing at Old Trafford, and that's why the hosts were able to score 669 runs. The Indian fans slammed Shubman Gill's captaincy, saying that the changes he made in his bowling lineup weren't good enough.

But Kapil came out in support of Gill and urged everyone to give him some more time.

“Give him time. This is his first series; he will commit mistakes, and there will be many positives over time; he will learn. This is a young team; they are getting the opportunity to play, and in the coming days, these players will win. Any new team in the world takes time to adjust,” he concluded.

Till stumps on the fourth day, the visitors were trailing by 137 runs. Shubman Gill and KL Rahul stitched a gritty partnership of 147 runs and helped the team bounce back at Old Trafford. They will start the fifth day and ensure that the match ends in a draw.
