IND vs NAM T20 World Cup 2026: Gautam Gambhir, who is the head coach of the Indian men's team, had invited the whole team and some members of the BCCI for a dinner at his Delhi residence on Sunday. The Indian team is currently in Delhi for their next group stage clash of the ongoing mega event against Namibia, which will be held next week.
A video posted by news agency PTI showed the Suryakumar Yadav-led side getting into the bus along with Gambhir, his wife Natasha Jain, and his two daughters, who were seen welcoming the team. Rajeev Shukla, who is the vice-president of BCCI, had also attended the dinner.

Gambhir played cricket for Delhi and has worked as a politician here, too. Interestingly, none of the current squad members belong to the city — the only one who did, pacer Harshit Rana, has been ruled out of the tournament due to a serious knee issue and replaced by Mohammed Siraj.
The spirits would be high in the team after surviving a dramatic top-order collapse to beat the USA by 29 runs in their tournament opener, thanks to a captain’s knock from Suryakumar Yadav.
Sent in to bat, India were rocked by disciplined bowling from pacer Shadley van Schalkwyk, slipping to 77 for six. Suryakumar then took control, combining patience with a late onslaught to finish unbeaten on 84 and push India to 161 for nine. In reply, Siraj’s incisive first spell reduced the USA to 13 for three, and despite some middle-order resistance, they were restricted to 132 for eight.
According to reports, India had an optional net session planned at the Arun Jaitley Stadium for Sunday, but canceled it. They have three more days to prepare for the game.
