IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2025 Final: Ex-India cricketer Syed Kirmani has revealed that the sportsmanship of cricket has gone in the whole world, and that rude gestures have been made on the field, and that he didn't agree with the Men in Blue not shaking hands with arch-rivals Pakistan, and then not taking the trophy from Mohsin Naqvi. It should be noted here that Mohsin Naqvi had posted some anti-India social media posts, and that they stuck to the stance of not taking a trophy, and that the presentation ceremony will only be attended by them after he leaves the venue, who took the trophy with him.

The Asia Cup 2025 began with the Indian team not shaking hands with Pakistan after their group stage match. India's T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav had dedicated this win to the Indian Army.

“The way cricket is being played all around, I would not like to take the names of the countries, by and large, there has been no gentlemanliness in the game. There have been very rude, arrogant gestures on the field," Kirmani was quoted as saying to ANI.

He said that his friends messaged him and asked, “What’s happened to the Indian team? What is this politics being played out on the field?".

“I am ashamed to listen to the comments from my friends. My friends say, ‘Your time was different. You played like gentlemen. But what has happened to the current era of cricketers globally? he added.

Post winning the Asia Cup, Suryakumar Yadav revealed that he will be donating all of his match fees to the Indian Army.

“It is very depressing to me the way things are going on in the sporting field, particularly in cricket. It isn’t the right thing that has happened. Politics shouldn’t be involved in sports in general," he added.

“Leave politics behind. Whatever has transpired away from the sporting field, leave it there itself. Don’t relate it to your winning amount or whatever you are earning from this great game of cricket," he concluded.
