IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2025 Final: Pakistan has qualified for the summit clash of the ongoing tournament and will lock horns with arch-rivals India after defeating Bangladesh by 11 runs on Thursday. This will be the first time these two teams face each other in a final of this tournament. The Men in Green had won their second match of the Super 4 stage and will be playing their third match against arch-rivals India.
The last two matches between these two teams were surrounded by controversy, where players didn't shake hands with each other.
'We are very excited, ' Pakistan skipper Salman Ali Agha told reporters in the post-match press conference. 'We know what we need to do, and we are a good enough team to beat anyone, and we will come on Sunday to try to beat them.'
Bangladesh was able to reduce Pakistan to 135/8 after winning the toss and bowling first. Taskin Ahmed was the pick among the bowlers as he registered figures of 3/28 along with spinners Rishad Hossein and Mahedi Hasan, who took two wickets apiece.
The Pakistan batters were seen having a hard time on a tricky surface as they suffered a batting collapse where Sahibzada Farhan got out after scoring 4 runs and Saim Ayub was dismissed on a duck for the 4th time.
Fakhar Zaman scored just 14 runs, whereas skipper Salman Agha scored 19.
Mohammad Haris and Mohammad Nawaz stitched a partnership of 38 runs and helped the team bounce back. Haris had scored 31 runs, in which he had hit four 4s and one six, whereas Nawaz scored 25 runs off 15 balls, in which he had hit two sixes and one 4.
While chasing, Bangladesh could score 124 runs. Pakistan pacers Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf spearheaded the bowling attack. Shamim Hossain was Bangladesh's highest run-scorer as he had scored 30 runs off 25 balls, whereas Saif Hassan scored 18.
Shaheen Shah Afridi had received two reprieves and had scored a gritty knock of 19 runs, in which he had smashed two sixes. He had also won the Player of the Match award.
