India vs Pakistan, Asia Cup 2025: The Pakistan cricket team has filed a complaint with the Asian Cricket Council, expressing their displeasure at Indian players walking off the field of play without the customary handshakes.

As soon as India registered a 7-wicket victory against the arch-rivals Pakistan in match 6 of the ongoing Asia Cup 2025, skipper Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube walked off the field as the Men in Blue avoided any kind of post-match interaction with the Pakistan players.

In a statement issued late Sunday night, the Pakistan Cricket Board condemned India’s actions after the seven-wicket defeat, calling them "unsporting."

"Team manager Naveed Cheema lodged a strong protest against the Indian players’ behaviour of not shaking hands. It was deemed as unsporting and against the spirit of the game," a PCB statement said.

Suryakumar, who played a match-winning knock of unbeaten 47 runs for India in Dubai, explained that the decision not to shake hands with the opposition was a gesture of solidarity with the families of the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack in April.

Notably, this was the first meeting on the cricketing field for India and Pakistan since the Pahalgam Terror Attack and India’s subsequent Operation Sindoor targeting terror infrastructure across the border in May.

The match turned out to be a one-sided contest with India outplaying Pakistan in all departments.

After the conclusion of the match, the Indian players were quick to exit, whereas the Pakistani players headed towards the Indian dressing room only to realise that the Men in Blue didn’t have the slightest inclination to reciprocate their desire for convention. In a reactive protest, Agha refused to attend the post-match presentation ceremony during which both captains usually share their thoughts with the host broadcaster.

Suryakumar went on to explain the actions in the post-match press conference. "Our government and BCCI were aligned today. Rest, we took a call," the captain, who turned 35 on Sunday, explained. "We came here just to play the game. That’s the end. We gave a proper reply."
