India vs Oman, Asia Cup 2025: India have scripted history during their third and final group A match against Oman in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Friday.

The Indian cricket team is playing their 250th T20I match. They have become the second team in the world, after Pakistan, to play 250+ T20I matches. Notably, this is the first T20I match between India and Oman as the latter becomes the 19th team to play a T20I match against the Men in Blue.

The two-time T20 World Cup winners, India, have played 32 T20Is each against Australia and Sri Lanka so far and lined up 31 times against South Africa so far. India is the only team in the world to have a win percentage of more than 50 against all the teams played so far in the shortest format.

Teams with most T20I appearances

Pakistan: 275 matches (157 wins and 107 defeats)

India: 250 matches (166 wins and 71 defeats)

New Zealand: 235 matches (123 wins and 95 defeats)

West Indies: 228 matches (95 wins and 119 defeats)

Sri Lanka: 212 matches (96 wins and 109 defeats)

Having won the toss against Oman, India decided to bat first for the first time in the ongoing tournament. The Men in Blue have already qualified for the super fours and are headed into the match on the back of group A victories over the UAE and Pakistan.

With an aim to try some bench strength, India came up with a couple of changes in their playing XI as Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh came in for Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy.

India will be up against arch-rivals Pakistan again in the Super Four on Sunday. They are the most successful team in the tournament's history with a record eight titles.
