IND vs SA 2nd Test: The Indian Test team suffered yet another home Test series loss and that too against WTC champions South Africa, as they had lost the second Test match by 408 runs in Guwahati. After the humiliating loss, a few Indian fans were seen chanting 'Haay Haay Gautam Gambhir', and that's when star fast bowler Mohammed Siraj and assistant coach Sitanshu Kotak interfered. Owing to the fan unrest, the police also intervened and dealt with them.
Fans chanted, ‘Gambhir Haye Haye’ and ‘Gambhir Go Back’ and then Kotak tried to warn them by saying, “Ek aadhmi India ke liye itna bolta hai aur aap haye haye bol rahe ho?".
This loss by the host is their biggest loss as far as runs are concerned at their backyard, and this was their second consecutive home Test series loss within a year. The Temba Bavuma-led side won the Test series 2-0.
When Indian fans were booing Gautam Gambhir after the shambolic home Test series loss, the batting coach asked them to stop by saying, “Aadmi India ke liye itna bolta hai aur aap ‘hai hai’ bol rahe ho.”

The Proteas posted a mammoth target of 489 runs in their first innings, on the back of Senuran Muthusamy's brilliant ton and Marco Janen's gritty knock of 93 runs, whereas Kuldeep Yadav was the pick among the Indian bowlers as he took a four-fer. While chasing the host could score just 201 runs, where Jansen took a six-for, and Yashasvi Jaiswal was the only batter to hit a fifty.
During the second innings, the visitors posted a target of 260 runs, where Tristan Stubbs scored 94 runs, and then they declared their total.
This decision worked in their favour as they skittled the host out for just 140 runs. Ravindra Jadeja was the only batter to score a gritty knock of 54 runs, whereas Simon Harmer took a six-for.
The Temba Bavuma-led side won the series opener by 30 runs in a low-scoring match as they had posted a target of 159 runs in the first innings, where the host had chased 189 runs, but the Proteas then scored 153 runs in the second innings and then bundled out the host for just 93 runs.
