IND vs SA 1st Test: India's star wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant will be making his comeback to the national side after recovering from a toe injury, which ended his Test series against England abruptly. He was in sublime form in that series as he had smashed two tons and then injured his toe in Manchester, and that's why he stayed out of action for a few months.
He had fractured his toe but still came out to bat at Old Trafford and had hit a fifty and played a huge role in making sure that the match ended in a tie.
Pant, who is all set to make a comeback to the national side, revealed, “he’s feeling a lot of gratitude for life".
“After an injury, it is never easy to come back. But God has been kind always, and he has blessed me always, and this time also, and I am thrilled to be back," Pant was quoted as saying in a BCCI video.
“See, every time I take the field, one thing I try to be is grateful. That’s why I always look up and thank God, my parents, my family, everyone has supported me (during the recovery phase)," he said.
He was also involved in a fatal car accident in 2022 and had to stay out of action for a long time. He then made a brilliant comeback and led Delhi Capitals from the front in IPL 2024 and was also a part of India's T20 World Cup-winning team.
“One thing I do is to focus on controllables; luck is one thing that you cannot control. So, I try not to think about that, as there are so many factors that we don’t factor in," he added.
“But if you can keep your mind in a place where a lot of things are not affecting you, and you focus only on things that matter to you. You will find happiness if you keep on doing things that make you feel good, especially when you are injured," he said.
Pant admitted that he had learned a great deal during these challenging times.
“Just be in a zone where you feel comfortable, work hard, be disciplined, and be in a zone where you are ready to learn, but still enjoying that time doing everything. Whatever you are doing, you need to enjoy that moment and give your 100 percent and find joy and happiness in that," he concluded.
