IND vs SA, 4th T20I: The Men in Blue showed their aggressive batting display and left the host clueless during the fourth and last T20I on Friday. Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma went all-guns-blazing against the Protea bowlers. Both of them smashed sixes and also created lots of records and helped the team post a mammoth target of 283 runs while batting first.

Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma scored 109 runs and 120 runs and helped the team post a mammoth target of 280 runs. The visitors had smashed 23 sixes during the fourth T20I. Due to this, the Men in Blue have now put up the joint third-highest number of sixes in a single T20I innings.

Zimbabwe has the most maximums during a single innings as they smashed 27 sixes against Gambia last month. During the fourth T20I, Sanju Samson had smashed nine sixes, whereas Tilak Varma had hit 10 sixes.

Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma stitched a partnership of 210 runs for the second wicket off just 93 balls. It is the sixth-highest partnership for the second wicket in the shortest format.

The Men in Blue also registered the third-fastest 200 in the shortest format. Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma made sure that the visitors posted a target of more than 200 within 14 overs.

India registered their second-highest T20I total

The Suryakumar Yadav-led side had also registered their second T20I total, on the back of Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma's brilliant performances. Just last month, they recorded their highest team T20I total of 297 runs against the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side.

In the 4th T20I against South Africa, Sanju Samson also smashed his third T20I hundred. He had scored all his hundreds this year. Due to this, he also became the first player ever to have smashed three T20Is in a single year.

Tilak Varma too scored his second consecutive T20I hundred. He became the fifth player to have scored consecutive T20I hundreds and has joined the list of Sanju Samson, France's Gustav Mckeon, South Africa's Rilee Rossouw and England's Phil Salt.

It's also the first time, that two batters have smashed individual centuries in the shortest format amongst two full-member nations and also the third overall in T20Is.

Due to Samson and Tilak's brilliant performance, the visitors also scored the highest T20I total against South Africa going past the earlier record of 258/3 by West Indies in Centurion last year.

Both Samson and Tilak Varma scored an unbeaten knock of 109 and 120 runs.

Opener Abhishek Sharma too played a gritty knock of 36 runs off 18 balls. India had won the toss and chose to bat first.

They are leading the four-match T20I series by 2-1 and the hosts will have to win this match to level the series.
